Hamlet’s Castle in Elsinore is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with soaring towers, a huge ball room, pointing cannons and damp casemates. Few places in this world have so much drama and history struck in one place. This tour is the traditional and most popular tour where the guide tells the main stories of the castle. This summer, Hamlet and his family, friends and enemies move back into Kronborg Castle.

During the summer, Hamlet, Ophelia, Polonius, the ghost and other familiar characters from the play will move from the pages straight onto the set of Kronborg Castle. From June through August, the famous scenes come to life and the characters roam the chambers and halls.

Experience the characters’ daily lives at close range. Talk to the protagonists and witness their tragic fate as they grip their weapons or poison each other. Sense the atmosphere of tension, fear, intrigue and – true to the spirit of Shakespeare – lashings of comedy.
